Weston Martinez, a fourth generation Texan, is a proven conservative leader who was born and raised in the Alamo City. He is now running to be Texas’ next Land Commissioner and has the experience and track record to serve the great state of Texas on Day 1.
Weston has already served as a statewide Commissioner, having been appointed as Real Estate Commissioner by former Texas Governor Rick Perry, the U.S Secretary of Energy under President Donald J. Trump.
Martinez, during his term in office, served under both Governor Perry and Governor Greg Abbott. As Texas Real Estate Commissioner, Weston worked with the Legislative and Executive Branches of Texas government to oversee all licensing, regulation and enforcement related to Realtors, Inspectors and Appraisers. The agency maintains approximately a 23-million-dollar budget with close to 300 employees seeing nearly 10,000 new license applicants a year. Weston served as the budget chairman for the agency for 3 years. During this time, Weston worked with team members to modernize the agency while reducing costs and increasing service and profit. His gubernatorial appointment required confirmation by the Texas Senate and successfully passing a thorough background investigation.
Martinez has been blessed to have a diverse professional career including as an oil and gas business development, as a government affairs strategist, and vice president of business development at a major Texas Law firm. Over the course of 26 years in the regulated telecommunications industry at Southwestern Bell and AT&T, Weston served in various roles including outside plant design engineering lead manager for the Southwest United States reporting directly to the Office of the President overseeing resolution of Public Utilities, Attorney General, and Better Business Bureau complaints for the United States. Weston brings a strong corporate background from the oil and gas industry as the President of a leading oil and gas service company where he held his own unique operator’s license with the Texas Railroad Commission.
Weston established the P5 operating company in Texas where he held the position of CEO. During his tenure of this startup, Weston strategically identified stranded assets, oversaw the securing of over 300,000 acres of water rights including site selection of a very prolific geological feature, while successfully negotiating a multiyear master service agreement with a major on shore operator to provide all water needs in the Eagle Ford Shale. This contract created a bottom-line value of annualized revenue of $62 million dollars per year.
His conservative pro-business, free market approach to doing business has proven successful in identifying solutions where others see only problems. That is why he is uniquely qualified to serve as Land Commissioner during this unique time in our state’s and nation’s history. He has and will always stand up to Leftist Democrats Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and to moderates within the Republican Party who want to squander our freedoms and put our liberties at risk.
Martinez was an NCAA bull rider at Texas A&M University Kingsville, later graduating from Wayland Baptist University where he earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration.
Weston & his wife Geneva have been married twenty-two years. They have five beautiful children. The Martinez family reside in San Antonio where they are active members of Friendship Church where Weston also serves as Executive Pastor.
