Dr. Stevens has a deep-rooted connection with San Antonio, Texas, where he developed his passion for education and community service.

Dr. Stevens grew up in a military family and found his home in San Antonio when his parents were stationed at Fort Sam Houston. He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he not only pursued his academic goals but also met his wife. Together, they have been married for 19 years and are raising three boys in the scenic city of Helotes.

With 13 years of experience in the Texas education system, Dr. Stevens has served as a teacher, instructional coach, and campus administrator. His professional journey spans public schools, charter schools, and private educational institutions, giving him a broad perspective on the educational landscape of Texas.

Beyond his professional career in education, Dr. Stevens is deeply involved in his community. He has been a licensed Minister at his church for 17 years and currently serves as the President of the Board for the Uvalde Foundation for Kids, demonstrating his commitment to the welfare and development of children.

Dr. Stevens holds a Bachelor's Degree in English, a Master's degree in Education/Teacher Leadership, and a Doctorate Degree in Education/Curriculum and Instruction. He is also a certified Texas teacher. His extensive educational background and hands-on experience in various educational settings equip him with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively serve on the State Board of Education.

In his previous campaign for the State Board of Education in District 1, Dr. Stevens won the 2022 primary but was not successful in the general election. Undeterred, he is ready to bring his expertise, dedication, and vision to the State Board of Education, focusing on enhancing the quality of education for all students in Texas.
