About Me

Janis Holt hails from Silsbee, a small rural town nestled within Hardin County in Southeast Texas, which she has called home since 1993. She is a lifelong Republican, casting her first presidential vote for Ronald Reagan in the 1980 election.

Janis has displayed her commitment to the Republican Party through a plethora of roles. Since 2008, she has been a delegate to the Republican Precinct, County, and State Conventions, and she was an elected delegate to the National Convention in 2012 and 2016. In addition, Janis has held positions as a Precinct Chair and Election Judge. A distinguished member of the 2016 Electoral College from Congressional District 36, she was awarded the RPT Volunteer of the Year from Senatorial District 3 in 2017. Furthermore, she continues to serve as a Committeewoman from SD 3 on the State Republican Executive Committee.

Joining the Hardin County Republican Women in 2009, Janis served in various capacities, including treasurer, secretary, and four terms as president. Currently, she serves as Vice President of Legislation. Her influence extends to the Texas Federation of Republican Women's Board of Directors, where she has held multiple roles, including VP of Finance, VP of Campaign Activities, District Director for SD3, Awards Chair, and Americanism Chair. Janis was proudly recognized as one of TFRW’s 10 Outstanding Women in 2019, and she was honored as TFRW’s Woman of Distinction in May of 2022.

Her national impact resonates through her service on the Board of Directors of the National Federation of Republican Women, in positions such as Chair of the Faith Coalition Committee, Chair of the Campaign Committee, and member of the PR Committee. Currently, she contributes to the Campaign Committee.

In December 2019, Texas Governor Greg Abbott appointed Janis to serve on the State Commission on Judicial Conduct for a five-year term. Within the Commission, she serves on the Executive Committee and currently holds the position of Vice-Chair.

Outside of politics, Janis and her husband of nearly 33 years are the proprietors of Hi-Tech Air Purification Systems, a company offering advanced air purification solutions for homes, businesses, and military installations. They also manage an Angus cattle ranch.

With a diverse career background, Janis has worked as a dental assistant and a 4th-grade school teacher. She's heavily involved in her local community, serving as a School Board Trustee for the Silsbee Independent School District since 2014, with her current role as Board President.

Janis and her husband, Alton, have raised four children, all now married, and take great joy in their four granddaughters and one grandson. In her leisure time, Janis enjoys crafting quilts and sewing for her grandchildren.
